It seems I can edit not only my chars but als othe npcs.
Also I think it would be a good idea to collect the "house rules" (meaning stuff we've discussed in this thread) for both the portal and the campaign on the wiki in a "read this first or the like".

Really? That doesn't seem right. On the character edit, I have an option to give a character to one of the players, so I wonder what effect that has if all the players can edit them anyhow.
I assume you still can't see the "secret GM info" section, at least...

Agreed. That's on my to-do list for the wiki, it's just not at the top of the list. If someone else wants to do it, be my guest. I'll even offer an extra bennie on Monday as a bribe.
For the moment, though, I'm discovering just how dangerous it is to give me access to a ton of "random whatever-you-can-imagine" tables and a wiki... It's kind of like TV Tropes in reverse. Instead of reading five more pages for every one I look at, I'm creating dangling links to five more for every one I write.

I just tried to edit and it worked. I added some pics as a test, you can remove them if you want.
Also I wanted to start with a "house rule" (I want that bennie!) page but am not really sure how to create a new page or add info on the main wiki page.

Very easy... Just go to the front page of the wiki and click the "edit this page" button at the bottom. At the top of the editing box, you'll see
h3. Locations
Above that, add
h3. [[Setting Rules]]
Save the page, and there will now be a red "Setting Rules" link at the top of the page. (And it will be in large text because the "h3." makes it a header.) Click the red link, and it will open an edit box for that page. When you hit save on this one, the page will be created.

Cool, thanks for that. I'll see about adding it tomorrow.

I've added a bunch of stuff but I am having problems with the formatting. I'll play around a while and see if I can fix it - hopefully I won't break anything.

Looks good overall! I cleaned up the formatting on the main page and made a couple other minor edits elsewhere, but the only major change was deleting the "Setting rules" page and copy/pasting its contents to a new "Setting Rules" page (both words capitalized) because there didn't seem to be any other way to change the page title. :p
I've finished up the pages for all four of the (clusters of) farms around Eastmere. I kept wanting to pack more stuff into each one, to the point that they would all become full-scale adventures that would take a session or two each to resolve... I had mixed success with fighting that urge; you should be able to finish with some relatively quickly, others may require you to retreat, regroup, and return to finish the job. So I hope you weren't planning to sweep through all four of them as little more than a speed bump on the way to Brassport...
Anyhow, take a look at the list of potential henchmen (
http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns ... g=henchman) if you haven't done so yet and see if there's anyone you
don't want to bring with you. Also check the details of the four farms (all linked from
http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... s/eastmere) and think about which you want to visit first. Ideally, I'd like to have these details worked out before Monday so that you'll be ready to hit the road as soon as we start the game.
You shouldn't need to worry too much about supplies at this point, as all four farms are only about an hour and a half's hike from Eastmere, or (for the sake of simplicity) the same distance from one to another. (It would normally be only an hour, but it's late winter and the roads are snowed over due to lack of traffic since the Silence arrived a month and a half ago.) It's up to you whether you want to return to Eastmere each day or find shelter in the farms as you secure them, but, either way, you shouldn't need to bring supplies for more than a day or three with you. (1 lb food/day per person and 4 lb water, but you can melt snow rather than carrying all your water with you.) The population of Eastmere will gladly donate food, water, and other survival supplies at no cost, so just decide how much you want to carry with you.

I just finished putting Jonaleth and his Song on Obsidian Portal for Arcturus at the following URLs:
http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns ... -ratslayer
http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns ... -summoning
Things got a bit confused in his stats due to the dual Arcane Backgrounds (basically, only one of them was statted), so I removed the host's Arcane Background and the extra Power Points, then used those Edge slots (and the skill points freed up removing Spellcasting) to give him Rich (to provide the money for a pump-action crossbow), McGyver (to remove the need to spend $1000 on an alchemist's trunk and allow him to build improvised devices in the field), Notice skill (as a pre-requisite for McGyver), and a minimal Fighting skill (so he won't get killed quite so quickly by the first rat that catches up with him). I tried to avoid doing a total rewrite and to stay true to the character concept as it's been explained here so far. Arcturus, let me know if any of it looks off to you.
Also, Raktskjutarn, are you still around? If you're still interested, we can definitely create a character for you and try to schedule a session at a time that works for you independently of what everyone else may be doing.

Let's go to Close Inn and get some honey. Or one of the big ones to hopefully find some non-crazy people.

Thank you very much nDervish, i have been rather busy and haven't taken the time to register an account on obsidianportal. In general it looks good, although there are a few things that seems a bit off. I'll talk to you this evening and we'll se if we can fix it. Among other things it seem's like i got bolt potions instead of blast potions.
I liked the title that you had applied to my character.

Enock says:
First we'll go to Elderone. We need food and they have weath, flour and beef. It is also on the way to Brassport and we need to know if there are any survivors. It is the closest town and they have goldsmiths there. You can't eat gold but it might come in handy with a gold reserve in the coming months...
We'll take as many hands as will follow. This is a good opportunity to weed the weak from the strong and the mad from the less mad. Just keep a close eye on that Spellbutcher fellow....
We will set the rest of the community to strenthen the defences of the Mithril Quarters and continue to scavenge the rest of the city for usables.
So says I!

What Jonaleth thinks:
Umm... We certainly need to secure a food supply and for that purpose any of the farms will do i guess. I am a bit worried about the farms that are keeping livestock. I wonder how they have fared? Maybe we should go to Elderone or Close Inn for that reason? They are bound to need tending if they haven't died or gone mad just like most of the people.
What should be a longtime goal is to find out where that doll or effigy came from. We don't know if this reprieve from the silence is just temporary or permanent. That means finding out where the doll came from and if there are others or any possibilty to strenthen the warding effect.

We'll probably talk in person before you see this, but, for the record: Switching Blast to Bolt was intentional. I had missed earlied that Blast is a Seasoned-rank power (meaning you need to collect 25 XP first, at a rate of 1-3 XP per session) and, when wondering what I should do about that, I noticed that one of the examples in a sidebar had an alchemist making Bolt potions, so I figured I'd just switch it back to that.

So, thanks everyone for a fun and chaotic first session! It'll probably be another few sessions before I come to grips with the system but I'm liking it so far. It seems that with practice it really can become Fast, Furious and Fun! I am really looking forward to the chase...
I won't be able to play more this week. The next week I can play tuesday or wednesday at 18-ish to 22, or saturday or sunday between 13 - 22 or so (no more than one day though). For the record I do not mind at all if you guys play without me if you have the chance.

It was really fun today
I am planning stuff with rats for Spellbutcher to use right now
I can play anytime the next two weeks except Wednesday the 26th. I do need to know like two or three days beforehand so that I don`t plan in any work that day.

Anybody else that can play one more time this week? I have loads of free right now but I will have a lot less of it after the 11th.
So can anybody else play on Thursday?

I can manage Thursday, or any day after that within the next week, but I understand that Thursday is an open boardgaming night at DMF, so it might be better to play somewhere else that night. (Or it might not matter; I've never been to boardgaming at DMF, so I don't know how crowded or noisy it's likely to be.)
Also... Moar Players! If anyone else reading this is interested in joining, you're still very welcome! If you're already involved and know other gamers who might be interested, invite them! Although I realize it's likely to just end up being little more than an aspiration, I'd really like to see point 2 of the West Marches quote in the first post become a reality:
2) There was no regular party: each game had different players drawn from a pool of around 10-14 people.
Reading through ben's articles on West Marches, one thing that sounded really cool and unique about it was that the shifting groups of PCs created a layer of friendly competition between the players. "Hey, those guys say they discovered a crazy inventor's house in Eldrone last night and scored a brass cat companion, but didn't have time to see what else was there. Let's try and get a game together to go give the place a thorough search before they can go back and clean it out!"
Side note: I'll post later today about the chase, XP, more player bribes, etc.
